Demonstrations continue unabated in various provinces of Iran, as reported by the Iranian humanitarian organization Iran Human Rights (IHR), based in Norway.
Specifically, according to videos and testimonies leaked by members of the IHR in Iran and abroad, during the demonstrations that are taking place for the 9th consecutive day, 59 civilians have lost their lives by police fire.
The organization published a numerical situation of the dead by province, according to which 20 people were killed in Mazandaran province, 8 people in Gilan, 7 people in West Iranian Azerbaijan, 5 people in Kermanshah, in Iranian Kurdistan (s.b. Masha’s place of origin Amini) 4 people, in Koghulieh-Boyer Ahmad 2 people, in Alborz 2 people while in the provinces of Isfahan, Ilam, East Iranian Azerbaijan, Zanjian in Tehran and Khorasan-Razavi one person was killed per province.
The organization notes that in some cases the bodies of the dead were given to their relatives so that their funerals could take place without the presence of their wider social circle.
Iran’s state-run IRIB TV confirmed the death of 34 protesters, while state media reported statements by the police chief of Gilan province that a total of 739 protesters, 60 of whom were women, had been arrested in that province.

WHAT HAPPEN OF MAHSA AMINI?
On 16 September 2022, a 22-year-old Iranian woman named Mahsa Amini (Persian: مهسا امینی), also known as Jina Amini or Zhina Amini (Persian: ژینا امینی, Kurdish: ژینا ئەمینی), died in Tehran, Iran, under suspicious circumstances, allegedly due to police brutality.
The Guidance Patrol, the morality police of Iran’s Law Enforcement Command, arrested Amini for not wearing the hijab in accordance with government standards. Police said she suddenly went into heart failure at a station, fell on the floor, and died after two days in a coma. Eyewitnesses and women who were detained with Amini said she was severely beaten, which in addition to her leaked medical scans, led independent observers to diagnose cerebral hemorrhage and stroke.
