Why is time an illusion? Physicists prove that everything happens at the same time
A group of physicists come to the theory that everything happens “now” and that time is just a human construct!
The concept of time is just an illusion made up of human memories, what has happened and what is about to happen is happening right now!
This theory was reached by a group of physicists who aim to solve the greatest mystery of the universe.
The laws of physics are symmetrical, after all, which means that time could easily move backwards as it does forwards, they argue.
Indeed, some proponents of the theory argue that time will begin to go backwards when the universe stops expanding.
But the enigma of why we interpret time forward has raised questions among scientists, with some saying it’s because time is simply a human construct!
Scientists claim that there is a point in the universe where space and time are connected. It is the well-known space-time.
The theory, which is supported by Einstein’s theory of relativity, states that space and time are part of a four-dimensional structure where what has happened has its place in the coordinates of space-time. This will allow everything to be “real”, in the sense that the past, and even the future, is still there in space-time – making everything as important as the present.
Max Tegmark, a physicist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, tells space.com: “We can visualize our reality, either as a three-dimensional space where things happen over time, or as a four-dimensional space where nothing happens. and if we portray reality in the second way then changing reality is an illusion, because there is nothing to change, everything is right there past, present and future ”.
“We have the illusion, at any given moment, that the past has already happened and the future does not yet exist, and that things are changing. But what is in the brain is happening now. “The only reason we feel like we’ve experienced something in the past is because our brain contains memories,” says physicist Max Tegmark.
Julian Barbour, a British physicist who has written many books on the subject of time, describes everything as a series of “now”.
“As we live, we seem to be moving through a succession of ‘now’, and the question is, what are these?” writes characteristically in one of his books.
He also explains that what we perceive as the past is just an illusion formed in our brain.
“The only information you have from last week is your memory but the memory comes from a stable structure of neurons in your brain. The only evidence we have of Earth’s past is rocks and fossils. But these are only fixed structures in the form of mineral settlement that we are considering here. The point is that all we have are these files and we only have them in the “now” “he concludes.
